Its Getting Tiresome

an't believe it! Here it is almost the middle of September and still nothing! I can't understand why there are no jobs for me. Three times a day I check the newest offerings, usually sending my resumes to a couple and still nothing.
What am I doing wrong? It is getting so very depressing. I feel as though I have no worth at all..to anyone! I hate not being able to contribute to what we need. Just to have a few of the necessities would be nice.
I have always felt that prayer does so much, but am getting to the point I'm not so sure. Every day I pray that something will come up. Ah Job! I know how ya feel!

It All Goes By SO Quick

Learning of Aunt Evolas death at age 94 has really saddened me. When I realize that she was my last link to that generation of Jacksons it again reminds me how quickly time passes. I look back with such wonderful and funny memories. Thinking of her, Uncle Jake, Judy and Mike and to know they are all gone is so very sad.
Could be too, that I continue to slip further and further into a funk that I don't like. No job, or prosects thereof etc etc etc. just makes my funk worse. I see that as I approach 60, nothing has turned out as I had thought it would, at least at this time in life.
Even though I have the best family in the world and so many wonderful and generous, true friends , I still fell very incomplete right now. I now even wonder if prayer is worth it. I know in my heart that my blessings are bountiful, my head doesn't always agree. I hate retating to Job!
I can only continue to pray and hope that tomorrow wil be a better day.

Thoughtful Sunday

I am so saddened for my wonderful friend M.K.Blanchard. She had to put down her wonderful beagle, Lady, yesterday morning. Many people just don't understand the realtionship between a person and their pet. Lady was loyal, cute and had the best personality. A wonderful pet who's name matched her completely. Being a widow, I know that the bond between her and Lady was so special. I know that she will miss her and I pray that these coming days will be kind to MK in her grief. Unfortunately she developed cancer and the last few days had been in such misery.

Deacon Sandy Reinke presented our sermon today and what a great job she did. And when Lynda Shevitz played "I am the Bread of Life" for communion we all knew the Holy Spirit was definitely there. Sandy hit the nail on the head when she said that we as a group are still in a period of mourning for Lou and Linda. I know it will take us a while to learn that we can't count on their always being there. One thing is for sure is that ALL of us prospered under the guidence of Lou with the great support of Linda. However I don't know of anyone who doesn't want them to enjoy every second of their retirement. It is so well deserved.

The fun of today was Rally Day, a time where all the different ministries
showcase what they are all about. It is a great time where we, also look at our time and talent and then offer it back to our parish. How truely blessed we are to have so many who give so much so that Our Savior can sustain our committment to Our Father, our community and to each other.

I think now that two if not three new people have shown interest for my EfM group. Thanks be to God. I love watching the various years as they grow in this group and into their own ministries. How lucky am I to be their mentor? !

Gracious Father, I give thanks for the wonderful life of Lady Blanchard and pray that she will rest in your eternal kindom forever. I give thanks to you for allowing each of us to serve you in the many ways we do and always to the Glory of your Name. Amen

What A Game

Well sure enough we had a great time, even though poor Simon got hit in the back of the head with a foul ball. His co-workers now will know they can blame any errant behavior on this incident. The Green Jackets really have a beautiful stadium and ooo so clean. What a great place to spend time at especially with those who mean so much to you. It was fun. Lord, even Nanna enjoyed it and was very impressed.
Almighty God , again thanks is given for this fun opportunity to spend such quality time with those that I love. Amen
