Thoughtful Sunday

I am so saddened for my wonderful friend M.K.Blanchard. She had to put down her wonderful beagle, Lady, yesterday morning. Many people just don't understand the realtionship between a person and their pet. Lady was loyal, cute and had the best personality. A wonderful pet who's name matched her completely. Being a widow, I know that the bond between her and Lady was so special. I know that she will miss her and I pray that these coming days will be kind to MK in her grief. Unfortunately she developed cancer and the last few days had been in such misery.

Deacon Sandy Reinke presented our sermon today and what a great job she did. And when Lynda Shevitz played "I am the Bread of Life" for communion we all knew the Holy Spirit was definitely there. Sandy hit the nail on the head when she said that we as a group are still in a period of mourning for Lou and Linda. I know it will take us a while to learn that we can't count on their always being there. One thing is for sure is that ALL of us prospered under the guidence of Lou with the great support of Linda. However I don't know of anyone who doesn't want them to enjoy every second of their retirement. It is so well deserved.

The fun of today was Rally Day, a time where all the different ministries
showcase what they are all about. It is a great time where we, also look at our time and talent and then offer it back to our parish. How truely blessed we are to have so many who give so much so that Our Savior can sustain our committment to Our Father, our community and to each other.

I think now that two if not three new people have shown interest for my EfM group. Thanks be to God. I love watching the various years as they grow in this group and into their own ministries. How lucky am I to be their mentor? !

Gracious Father, I give thanks for the wonderful life of Lady Blanchard and pray that she will rest in your eternal kindom forever. I give thanks to you for allowing each of us to serve you in the many ways we do and always to the Glory of your Name. Amen
